INNOV-AL project is organising a new cycle of webinars in September, October and November 2020. This new cycle will have several sessions to provide capacity building for the representatives and players of the innovation ecosystem for the Brazilian states involved in the first phase of the project (Pará, Paraná, Pernambuco) and also the states involved in the current phase (Ceará and Santa Catarina). The target group of the sessions is composed by members of government secretariats, representatives of the industry federation, university, and others from specific economic sectors, varying by state. Each webinar session will address different strategies for smart specialisation and value chain integration.
The first session entitled “Formulation and implementation of smart specialisation strategies: the case of Azores” was presented in 08 of September, and counted with the speakers Mr. Bruno Pacheco and Ms. Deborah Estima, both from the Government of Azores, and João Medina, from Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação (SPI). The speakers addressed the process of defining the Smart Specialisation Strategy for Azores, their priorities and main regional assets. The webinar also presented to the audience the governmental review if this Smart Specialisation Strategy to be implemented in 2021-2027. The main criteria elected for this new approach of their RIS3 are efficiency, effectiveness and relevance. The first session had over 30 participants, among the representatives from all 5 Brazilian states.
